Launch is an example of a "thought drawing." I record every thought that emerges as I draw on paper with pastels in layers which eventually create the energy and beauty of the piece. Thoughts, which are vaporous, like water vapor caused by the turbulence of the ocean hitting rocks, come together to create the solid form of an artwork. You can find other thought drawing examples in the Still Life Portfolio: they include Figure Eight - Thousand Words and Spinning Wheel. I find journal writing just as important as my artwork in helping me respect my inner knowing and forward my self-understanding.
